Description: Every year I like to do a few standard service checks on my instruments to ensure that they are running their best. I decided to make a little video showing a few basic operations. |

slowdog294 ::: Favorites 2008-01-09 12:33:15 This is a fabulous video. We need more stuff like this on YouTube! Thanks for the tour. 5 stars, Sir. The Bone Doctor Walnut Hill Productions Ridgecrest, California __________________________________________________
Organgrinder010 ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 18:47:58 Thanks for looking! Yes, when I brought the organ home I dismantled it and scrubbed all the dust out from inside. Just one less thing to worry out, you know. =) __________________________________________________
glendwr ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 18:40:51 Wow, some of this video looks very familiar to my older WurliTzer Series 20 organ, except yours looks so much cleaner. I really need to do a good cleaning on it this summer. Thanks for the video! Jon __________________________________________________
Organgrinder010 ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 09:57:27 Actually, the coil is testing fine now that I got new batteries for my multimeter. I pulled out the schematic, and it looks like the network is controlled by relays, so I'll check there next. Thanks for looking! __________________________________________________
Maxxarcade ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 03:30:32 Could there be a break right at the point where the coil windings are soldered to the connection lugs? Usually when a solenoid coil burns, you can tell just by looking at the change in color. Not going by any Wurlitzer knowledge here, just general knowledge of coils. I've seen problems like this on other equipment. __________________________________________________
steverabb ::: Favorites 2008-01-04 21:51:06 Invaluable instructional tour on the workings of the Wurlitzer electric organ. You're absolutely right in an earlier comment, Hammonds never break down. The only thing I ever get to do on mine is oil it once in awhile and when I get real adventuresome, I rewire some of the preset keys to make different sounds. Otherwise, I dust it and play it! __________________________________________________

Hamaround ::: Favorites 2008-01-04 19:28:31 Been a long time since I saw one of these. My aunt had one of them. One of the first organs I ever played. __________________________________________________

djkickdown ::: Favorites 2008-01-04 13:56:20 Very interesting, thank you for share! __________________________________________________
Aj645 ::: Favorites 2008-01-04 12:37:26 Well, if you *want* a Hammond that breaks down... I'd be more than happy to trade! lol. Always interesting to see the mechanics of another instrument, thanks for sharing. __________________________________________________
Organgrinder010 ::: Favorites 2008-01-03 11:16:42 Once they have been serviced, they are very stable instruments. I talked to a few other owners and they said that theirs are running perfectly fine off the original components. I guess it is just hit or miss. Also, mine is the first generation design, using the prototype parts, which may be why I am getting some of the faults I have. Take care! __________________________________________________
posaune16 ::: Favorites 2008-01-03 11:03:43 A friend of mine has one of these old electrostatic WurliTzers - if I had your level of knowledge, I'd be asking her what she wants to do with it ;-) __________________________________________________

theorganloft ::: Favorites 2008-01-02 23:54:03 Excellent! I used to like the old Wurlitzer back in the 70's and now you have revived those pleasurable moments. Thanks. __________________________________________________ |
