This war doesn't have enough powerful, memorable protest songs. Ohio hit us in the gut not just for what it was about, but Neil's scary D-modal chording and death march rhythm. Fixing to Die sticks with us for the sarcastic honky-tonk melody set to bitter words - real cardboard world stuff. Plus both songs were LOUD. GIMME AN F! Good song, just needs a little work. - Chris A.

What this song needs is a better refrain. The thing that's sticking in my head is the "chicken hawk draft dodger" bridge, instead of the main point. It's also too quiet, almost hesitant. Neil's "Impeach the President" song may not have been his greatest moment but he opened with great crashing and a hearty "Let's impeach the president for lying!" and if you don't know the rest of the song it doesn't matter, he's made his point! You are right! The way I see it the military would not hesitate to attack American suvillians if the order were given. The troops would quickly forget what those yellow ribbons of support mean. The whole support the troops even if you don't support the war idea is a strategy designed to confuse those weak minded individuals that buy into this whole neocon fear campaign! The troops are cowards for not exercising good judgment.

Country Joe is a veteran and has ALWAYS supported the troops. Protesting their dying in unnecessary wars for profit (Haliburton, Blackwater GE and the stealing of other countries resources, OIL). The BushCo sheep NEVER do research on their own, Facts mean nothing to them, so they just repeating Fox news, Limbaugh & Bush's lies, it's much easier to do than thinking for themselves.
