I am a full blooded American that has to do this crap all day. I can tell you all that guy asked was necessary. The stuff we put in the system is LEGAL documents. The guy was probably slow because he was new. probably the same reason the call was transferred wrong. People need to show a little patience and understanding from time to time. I have to do it all day long from the other end. Go listen to the Dell call... that's also normal.

How are you supposed to get tech support when the tech you are talking to is trying to figure out which type of explosion he should strap to himself before running into a public building and yelling "allah akhbar!" and blowing his camel jockey ass into desert confetti? You think he really cares that you need to reformat Windows?

Ooh, classy. Nice to know that you failed geography class enough times to make the ACTUAL CONNECTION between an INDIAN and an ARAB. Wonderful, indeed.

This is how it works friends...this guy has no idea who the "customer" is; what his problem is or why he is calling he needs the information he asks for in order to access it on his computer. He asks for the serial number to verify it against the one in the records to make sure he's not trying to pass off another computer as the original. If you don't like the system then vote for more stringent regulation of businesses or build a computer yourself.

Wow! This is so true. Too many times this has happened in my line of work where I do all the computer setups. This is a good video. We are not alone in our outrage.

sounds like a typical tech call. recenty called Dell and thought my warrenty would cover a software issue (it always had) but no, i didn't read the fine print. They charged $136 for "software advice" i was not happy. I see a mac in my future

I guess you mean white Americans, though of course that's not all Americans. But no, the classic white American weakness is chummy, overbearing ignorance. It's not the same as the Indian problem.

I used to work for HP in managed services, and we had the exact same problem. It used to really piss me off, that i worked for HP as a support officer - and I still had to ring up some moron and patiently go through their corporately issued checklist of BS for 15 minutes to get a job logged (if they even logged it, half the time they would get you to do some completely irrelevant and useless test first and then make you call them back - or transfer you to the wrong department).

Lol, I was going to stay out of this but since you had to bring up American Idol... It was a self-glorification PR stunt. Ok, they raised 60 million dollars. Big whoop. How much of that is actually going to get to the people that need it? If AI *really* wanted to benefit African Aid, they would have run the show COMMERCIAL FREE. They made 700,000 for every 30 second spot they ran. Meaning News Corp made back their entire 5 million investment in the first 5 minutes.

of course its a pr stunt, just like every person that shows their face on a charity event isnt just thinkng about the cause, theyre also thinking about the camera exposure. Its going to be like that no matter who or what is raising the money. Personally i could care less what the motive is as long as some progress is made, but noooo, to some people that just is never enough. Maybe next time you could just be glad that something was done instead of complaining about what wasnt.

Well I was at a Dell business support call center for a year...and I remember them saying Dell continues to have American based phone support...find that with the other companies...you tell me what problem you had with them...your problem was probably based on the 1/4th chance that you got Pakistan or got lost in the phone system...

well i guess your 1/4 chance seems to be affecting me 4/4s of the time, because i always get a pakistani/indian guy who wont stop asking me for all of my serial numbers and wont actually solve the problem
