Just like he said, he has to worry if Chrissy will flip on him at anytime, He felt Chrissy was a source of bad luck, and he's unstable because of drugs. Finally, when the accident happened and he saw the tree trunk through the baby seat, and Chrissy said he was high, Tony realized enough was enough and PLUS he could be a danger to his child because of drugs (you saw the tree trunk through the seat).
