Why do Christians worry about prolonging this life? Shouldn't they eat crappy food and not exercise at all and hope for an earlier heart attack? We atheists live each day simply because our consciousness is only small part of our mind. We don't have full control of our lives. If we had we would be dead. Because our needs is what gives us meaning. Eat, fuck survive. Then using our conscious mind we create various rationalizations why are we living. But these are fairytales. Because I understand (among many other things) that leaving behind a legacy would be pointless if in 100 years there would be no one alive to appreciate it. Ur love will die out as soon as those you love R dead. And the knowledge you spread wil be forgotten once your students are dead. Its almost like the second you die the entire universe ends for an atheist because- an atheist is virtually his own god.
