pan5464 ::: Favorites I agree, not only that but Hitch seems to explain more in a historical sense, I think. Since I have a huge interest in history, I found it a lot more interesting at times and easier to read due to it. 07-08-18 21:44:45 __________________________________________________
JaboCelt ::: Favorites I am a much bigger fan of Hitchens and "God is not great". It could just be that Hitchens is a great writer and is constantly interesting to the point where I cannot get enough of the Hitch. Dawkins is good too and the God Delusion sums up the stance of modern atheism quite well but it too comes of short of Hitchens because literature is his bread and butter, whereas Dawkins and Harris come from more methodical scientific backgrounds. 07-08-06 03:38:58 __________________________________________________
cherokeenation ::: Favorites I read his book. I found it containing accurate, (albeit obvious) points. I did not learn anything new from it, nor was I inspired by it in any way. Just another opinion based work. He is educated, to be sure, but I am not sure about being a legend. I don't see in him the stuff legends are made of, but I'll view more of his interviews and presentations as he goes. 07-07-17 15:00:28 __________________________________________________
sheLovesG ::: Favorites Thank you for your thoughtful reply. Sam Harris reeks of academic careerism. He comes off as insincere and loaded down with other not too well hidden agendas. He is transparent. 07-07-17 14:36:23 __________________________________________________
cherokeenation ::: Favorites I agree about Sam Harris. Dawkins IS the force to reckon. 07-07-17 13:48:33 __________________________________________________
cherokeenation ::: Favorites I would respect and listen to Sam's ideas more if he would not use language manipulation and facts out of context. Informed, educated minds will see through those techniques. His new found fame is not being handled as well as I formerly thought. (An understandable situation). Get grounded Sam! Don't lose credibility if you hope to get to the next level. Good luck with your book! 07-07-17 13:45:07 __________________________________________________
untroubled ::: Favorites Sam Harris is a very intelligent man, I reckon he'll be a legend in his older days if he keeps up like this. Peace. 07-07-04 01:15:45 __________________________________________________
SIP100 ::: Favorites It's like I said the only difference between the religious and atheist at the end of the day is the want for solace vs. the want for truth. BTW Atheism despite pop. belief -can't- be a religion its a simple stating that one doesn't believe in gods, or god. Atheist take up philosophies (of which there is a huge list) those can make them look (seem) religious true, but atheism alone nah its a false title. 07-06-18 22:08:38 __________________________________________________
SIP100 ::: Favorites honest? agnosticism? not really, not at all. Especially when in comes to the fact that God is a claim made by fiat and a back up by negative proofs associated themselves by fiat made proclamations. Am I to be agnostic considering a celestial tea pot I think not thats absurd. So agnostic considering Spinoza's, Deist god (a.k.a.just a higher structure) sure, Tetragramaton or any other anthropomorphic sky daddy not in a million years bud. 07-06-18 21:54:25 __________________________________________________
sheLovesG ::: Favorites I stand by my statement concerning Harris. Unlike Dawkins he parrots a POV that is '5013c' foundation approved. His credibility is also void with his kneejerk/cliche support for the Zionist agenda(not too subtlely implied), which at it's core is a religious movement. 07-06-18 01:15:24 __________________________________________________ |
