Description: Every year since 2003, we have been organizing a community festival called "Fish for the Future". The theme of this event is sportfishing related but we include as much conservation/community stewardship/educational component as possible. Activities include kids fishing (rods are available for borrowing), flytying and flycasting workshops, mini fishing lessons, birds of prey exhibition, fish and aquatic viewing stations, arts and crafts. Participants of this event include: Burns Bog Conservation Society Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC Sportfishing Institute of BC Chilliwack/Vedder River Cleanup Coalition Fraser Valley Salmon Society Fisheries and Oceans Canada RCMP BC Family Fishing Weekend Society National Fishing Week Society Fishing with Rod Fish for the Future 2007 will take place on Saturday July 7th, from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The event venue is London's Landing in Steveston (at the southern end of No. 2 Road, behind the bike park). Admission is free, so please join us!
