Description: Messenger of fear in sight Dark deception kills the light Hybrid children watch the sea Pray for father, roaming free Fearless wretch Insanity He watches Lurking beneath the sea Great old one Forbidden site He searches Hunter of the shadows is rising Immortal In madness you dwell Crawling chaos, underground Cult has summoned, twisted sound Out from ruins once possessed Fallen city, living death Fearless wretch Insanity He watches Lurking beneath the sea Timeless sleep Has been upset He awakens Hunter of the shadows is rising Immortal In madness you dwell Not dead which eternal lie Stranger eons death may die Drain you of your sanity Face the thing that should not be Fearless wretch Insanity He watches Lurking beneath the sea Great old one Forbidden site He searches Hunter of the shadows is rising Immortal In madness you dwell. _________________________ "Master of Puppets" is a well known song by thrash metal band Metallica. It is the title track of their 1986 album. . It is also following the tradition of Ride the Lightning in having the title track as the second track, preceded by a shorter, high-speed typical thrash metal track. There are several such track similarities on Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and ...And Justice for All. "Master of Puppets" is also notable for its long and complex instrumental section beginning about three and a half minutes into the song. The song, as Lars Ulrich explained, is about being controlled by some kind of manipulative force relentlessly. The song features a chromatic introduction riff and a change into a Spanish phrygian interlude. Before the second solo of the song, bassist Cliff Burton, can be vaguely heard in the background reciting the verse, in a deep gruff voice. Track listing: All songs written by Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich except where noted. 1.) "Battery" (Hetfield, Ulrich) -- 5:12 2.) "Master of Puppets" (Hammett, Hetfield, Cliff Burton, Ulrich) -- 8:36 3.) "The Thing That Should Not Be" -- 6:36 4.) "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" -- 6:27 5.) "Disposable Heroes" -- 8:17 6.) "Leper Messiah" (Hetfield, Ulrich) -- 5:39 7.) "Orion" (Hetfield, Burton, Ulrich) -- 8:27 8.) "Damage, Inc." (Hammett, Hetfield, Burton, Ulrich) -- 5:32 |
