Description: At first I thought I was just playing around by forcing the Old Man to fight a Trainer, but apparently it really screws with the system. The game has to temporarily change your name to "OLD MAN" so it will display properly, and when the Old Man catches the Weedle, it resets your name. It appears the game did not have a chance to reset my player's name ("RFS") and in the process the Bicycle was taken from my inventory, which was in place number one in the list. Everywhere the game says "RFS", it now says "OLD MAN", except the Original Trainers of all of my Pokemon; they still read "RFS". Turning off the force encounter code and having the Old Man demonstrate his skills does not fix the game either. I have never seen this documented before on any website, and I've done quite a bit of researching in my days. Truly something new here. |

RFSmediaproductions ::: Favorites 2007-05-19 20:28:28 No, if you save beforehand and do this glitch you can turn the game off and on and it will be fixed... but if you save while you're "OLD MAN" then you're gonna be OLD MAN for the rest of the game! :O __________________________________________________ | |

KenMiyake ::: Favorites 2007-05-28 02:26:58 The reason that your name was set to OLD MAN is because when the game normaly changes your name to that in order to make his sequence work, your actual name is stored in the wild Pokemon variables (since they are reset whenever you leave a map anyway). By forcing encounters you basicaly are permanently setting data there and as such it probably just...farted a bit. I don't know why turning off the code wouldn't fix it, but, this was pretty funny xD __________________________________________________ |
