Description: In the early 70s, PBS broadcast the first reality series, An American Family. It told the story of the William C. Loud family from Santa Barbara, California. It was compelling television, and the family was beloved by millions of viewers who empathized with them, especially eldest son Lance, who lived at the Chelsea Hotel and hung out with Warhol "superstar" Holly Woodlawn, and was an openly and unapologetically gay young man. This is one of several clips from the series Im putting up today on You Tube. Im putting up many of the best highlights of this "lost" series on YouTube! I have also created a webpage tribute to the series, located on my site at http://subcin.com Grant's lecture from his parents continues. |
